Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot-In-Command

I’m an individual drone operator with a Part 107 certification, based in Chicago’s West Loop. My service area extends around Cook County, with regular travel through Lake and McHenry Counties. Occasional availability in southern Wisconsin from Milwaukee through Madison.

Current Availability: please contact at least a week in advance. Weekends preferred.

What sets you apart?

With my background in Architectural Visualization, I’ve been producing aerial imagery in one form or another for residential, commercial, and industrial properties for over a decade and a half. I currently integrate drone photos and footage into my ArchViz work, camera-matching renders into their sites to better inform the design process and provide professional marketing materials.

General Restrictions under FAA rules

  • max altitude: 400′
    • can ‘building climb’, rising above that limit so long as the drone is within 400′ laterally of a tall structure.
    • Some locations have a lower ceiling or are restricted entirely regardless of need. I can advise with an inquiry.
  • max distance: must stay in visual range of crew who are in direct communication with the RPIC/airman at the controls. Equipment is capable of up to 4 miles.
  • restricted to daylight hours, sunrise to sunset.
    • +30 minutes into twilight before/after rise/set with appropriate equipment.
    • night time flight requires a waiver from the FAA.
  • Flying over people/crowds: Short answer is usually “no”.
    • Only people knowingly part of the operation (IE, actors in a film) may be flown over. They have to be aware of where the drone will be flying and sign a waiver accepting that it comes with risks.
    • Requires a separate waiver from the FAA.
